Corporate/Team Challenge
What’s the Challenge?
This is a team event for businesses designed to help build teamwork across departments and promote fitness within the workplace. Runners and walkers compete in the Run for Blood Quarter Marathon & 5K, while representing their business team. *Running clubs, running stores and gyms are also welcome to participate.
Purpose of Partnership
Coach Lois has partnered with the event to showcase that running and walking promotes a healthy lifestyle, which in turn creates healthier employees who rely less on health insurance and helps control the bottom line. It is a great way to boost company spirit and a fun way for employees to interact outside the office. Who knew team building could be this much fun? Coach Lois will provide ongoing coaching tips, will blog about current hot topics, and lead a training program for beginners and experienced runners.
Community Engagement with a Competitive Edge!
The Run for Blood Corporate Challenge will support and encourage companies to participate in an active lifestyle. The event is uniquely positioned to support those new to fitness who are taking control of their lives by celebrating and rewarding their effort and participation. We will also reward the competitive excellence of the more experienced and elite athletes.
In order to stay updated on the latest information regarding the Corporate Challenge, make sure to join the Run for Blood Facebook Fan page. We will post updates, tips and motivation for the Corporate Challenge teams and individuals on a regular basis.
Prizes and Awards will be based on: a) highest number of participants on each team to finish the race, b) fastest combined times of 3 teammates and c) total fundraising*
Participation – Total employees. Whether you have a handful of employees or hundreds, every company can be part of the action! Teams are encouraged to wear their own team shirts, but not required in order to participate. The winning team in each category will receive the “Run for Blood Corporate Challenge Trophy” to display at their place of business.
Competition – Fastest Combined Times of 3 Team Members – Additional prizes to be awarded to teams with the fastest 3 team members to score within the Quarter Marathon and 5K. The three fastest will be taken directly from the total team results and will not discourage anyone from participating. Minimum of 5 members are required on each team.
*Fundraising - Team fundraising efforts will be acknowledged in addition to individual fundraising. Money raised will go to the American Red Cross North Central Blood Services Region in St. Paul.
What could be better – inspiring positive morale and camaraderie with your colleagues, focusing on health and wellness, achieving personal fitness goals and giving back to the community? It’s a winning combination!
